Un hôtel unique et insolite au coeur de Lyon
For over 150 years, the Hôtel Globe et Cecil has embodied the elegance and timeless charm of Lyon’s historic centre. Located in the prestigious Bellecour district, in the heart of Lyon, our establishment is much more than just a hotel: it’s a journey through time.
Le Globe and Cecil today are
From family home to boutique hotel: a family heritage
There ‘s a building deep inside everyone that touches them. The simple fact of thinking about it, of crossing the threshold, instantly gives us a feeling of happiness, a deep and sincere sense of belonging. It was this personal story and quest for purpose that led Loïc Renart, the first of Lyon’s Aubergistes, to take up the torch.
It was in this hotel, nestled in the heart of Lyon, that he grew up; this was his home. The hotel was not just his playground, but his entire universe. Older chambermaids such as Micheline (41 years at the Globe and Cecil) still remember the first mischief of a mischievous little boy.
Today, as owner of this 4-star hotel, nestling in the Bellecour district, remains his refuge, as well as that of all those who stay here. He wants to perpetuate and pass on to his guests that indescribable indescribable feeling of being at home.
With a touch of nostalgia, he tells the story of the Hotel Globe and Cecil as one recalls an old friend: with tenderness, pride and infinite gratitude. Because this charming hotel, beyond its walls and its unique design, is first and foremost a place to live, to exchange ideas and to share memories. An unusual experience, a soul in the old centre of Lyon, which is very important to him.
