5 bars to take your lover to in Lyon

Whether you’re looking for an after-work drink, a pre-dinner aperitif or simply a moment for two, Lyon is full of romantic bars. Here are my favorite addresses, tried and tested for a date for two.
Le Dôme
For me, Le Dôme does it all: the ceiling is majestic, the place really exudes something, and you can feel the history behind every detail. It’s an institution in Lyon, a classic, but a must-see for two. The atmosphere is elegant, and the cocktails are carefully prepared. Even if it’s notorious, it’s still a romantic rendezvous that never disappoints.
Le Carrousel
Here’s my favorite address, one that I’m happy to share. Le Carrousel is perfect for enjoying a terrace and a lovely view of downtown Lyon. You can watch the sun go down while sipping a quiet drink. The atmosphere is relaxed and ideal for a chat, undisturbed by the crowds. It’s one of those places where two people really feel at home.
The Musée Gadagne bar
When the weather’s nice, there’s nothing like a boat trip on the Saône or Rhône rivers. There are several ways to rent a boat or enjoy an aperitif cruise. For example, some offers include a 1.5-hour cruise with an aperitif from around €30-40 per person, which is very pleasant in summer. We embark from quays close to the center, sail gently, and watch the bridges and facades go by at sunset. It’s one of my favorite ways to spend a stress-free moment for two. The Modulo
And how could we not mention Modulo, a barge on the Saône, in an article about romantic bars? The atmosphere is intimate, the lighting subdued, the sound of the water and the cocktails original. The view over the Rhône immediately adds a magical touch to the evening. It’s the perfect place to surprise your other half with a different setting, while remaining cosy and warm.
